Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Statement on the Revised 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ALEXANDRIA, VA, August 12, 2026 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative groups, has issued the following statement in response to the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA) announcement of the Revised 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program.

“CASM applauds the HRSA’s announcement of the Revised 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program. The revised pilot takes meaningful steps toward reducing waste, abuse, and inefficiency within the 340B program by introducing long-overdue transparency measures. By increasing program oversight and promoting greater accountability, these reforms will help return 340B to its intended mission of serving low-income and underserved patients.

“For years, the 340B program has allowed hospital conglomerates and pharmacy middlemen to profit from a system with too little transparency and insufficient oversight. By establishing stronger safeguards within the rebate process, this updated model pilot begins to address those longstanding flaws.

“Through a more transparent and predictable claims-based rebate process that prevents duplicative discounts and streamlines reimbursement, the pilot restores program integrity and helps refocus the program on the patients it was created to serve instead of the corporate interests that have benefited from the status quo.

“By advancing transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility, HRSA is strengthening our healthcare system. In doing so, they empower and protect patients while restoring confidence in the integrity of the 340B program.”
