Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Statement on the One-Year Anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act Being Signed into Law

ALEXANDRIA, VA, August 16, 2023 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative groups such as the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC), Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, has issued the following statement on the one year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act being signed into law, attributable to Jack Kalavritinos, CPAC’s Executive Director, Coalition Against Socialized Medicine.

“One year ago today, American patients were cast aside by President Biden when he signed the so-called Inflation Reduction Act into law. This long-sought leftist policy scheme substituted market forces for the judgment of bureaucrats in providing Medicare drugs. Indeed, we have already seen drug developers cancel research into new drugs and treatments due to this atrocious law. Thanks to radical Democrats in Congress and the Biden White House, our quality healthcare system is being sacrificed at the altar of socialist dogma.”
