Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Statement Applauding HRSA RFI on the 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program
ALEXANDRIA, VA, February 18, 2026 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative groups, has issued the following statement applauding the recent Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) on the 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program.
“The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM) applauds the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)’s recent Request for Information (RFI) regarding the proposed 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program. We are encouraged to see HRSA taking steps to solicit public input and pursue reforms that restore accountability and prevent abuse within the 340B program. We urge the agency to thoughtfully consider stakeholder feedback as it works to strengthen oversight and ensure the program serves its intended purpose.
“For too long, the 340B program has operated with insufficient transparency and oversight, enabling large hospitals to exploit a program originally designed to help low-income and vulnerable patients access discounted medications. Instead of passing along savings at the pharmacy counter, many hospitals have used the program to generate significant profits, contributing to higher costs across the healthcare system. Beyond that, these massive corporations are taking even more aggressive action, like suing the very patients that should be benefiting from the program for unpaid bills for as little as $59.
“A properly implemented 340B Rebate Model Pilot Program would help curb waste, fraud, and abuse by ensuring discounts are used as intended and introducing long-overdue transparency measures.
“CASM commends HRSA for advancing this effort and looks forward to continued progress in modernizing and strengthening the 340B program. We are planning to file comments on the issue, due March 19.”
