Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Celebrates World IP Day

ALEXANDRIA, VA, April 26, 2025 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative groups, has issued the following statement regarding World Intellectual Property Day.

“On World Intellectual Property Day and every day, CASM appreciates the importance of IP as a key driver of innovation. Strong IP rights are fundamental to our nation’s free market economy, protecting developers and serving as crucial incentives for innovation. These protections allow innovators to confidently invest their time, money, and other resources into new ideas by ensuring that they have ownership over the product of their hard work.

“Our Founding Fathers understood the value of property rights—including intellectual property. Intellectual property is the foundation of America’s capitalist economy, fostering innovation and driving competition. In healthcare, patents are crucial to protecting investment in medical advancements. It’s imperative that as a nation we recognize the significant role patents play in our prescription drug market and protect IP rights to the betterment of patients, taxpayers, and all Americans.”
