Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Launches Seven-Figure Ad Campaign Slamming Pelosi Plan, Socialized Medicine

Coalition Highlights Dangers of Pelosi Drug Pricing Proposal in Washington and in Key States

ALEXANDRIA, VA, October 7, 2019 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative and free-market groups such as the American Conservative Union, Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, today announced a seven-figure ad buy to highlight the dire implications of Speaker Pelosi recently-released drug pricing proposal to patient access and quality of care, innovation, and the taxpayer. The ad buy includes cable, print, digital, and social media in Washington, D.C. and in targeted Congressional Districts. Of note, the campaign also includes a full-page ad on the dangers of the Pelosi plan in today’s Orlando Sentinel as President Trump is due to speak on health care at The Villages. CASM Executive Director Marc Palazzo (mpalazzo@conservative.org) issued the following statement:

“Nancy Pelosi’s socialist price controls are a threat to patients, innovation, and the economy, and we are going to make sure that Americans everywhere know their true consequences. They would hinder access to and degrade quality of care, serve as a death-knell for innovation, and impose crippling new taxes of up to 95% on the
medicines patients depend on. This plan is nothing more than the first step of a total government takeover of the health care system – a dream for a San Francisco liberal, but a nightmare for patients, innovators, and taxpayers.”
