Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Releases Statement on 9th Democratic Debate

ALEXANDRIA, VA, ‪February 20, 2020 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative and free-market groups such as the American Conservative Union, Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, has issued the following statement on the Democratic Presidential Debate held in Las Vegas, NV attributable to CASM Executive Director Marc Palazzo (mpalazzo@conservative.org):

“The health care proposals put forth by the candidates on the left may have different names. Whether Medicare for All, Medicare for All Who Want It, or the Public Option, at the end of the day, they boil down to the same thing: government price controls and socialized medicine. Names aside, they share much in common: each would put health care in to the hands of government bureaucrats, reduce access for America’s patients, stifle innovation, and impose crushing new job-killing costs on taxpayers.”
