Coalition Against Socialized Medicine Releases Statement on the Presidential Debate
ALEXANDRIA, VA, September 30, 2020 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative and free-market groups such as the American Conservative Union, Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, released a statement reacting to the first Presidential debate:
“Regardless of which party they originate from, bad policies are bad policies. Socialized medicine, the so-called “public option,” and importing foreign price controls would have a catastrophic impact on the lives of countless Americans. As evident in countries around the world, quality of care declines, wait times for basic care and procedures dramatically increase, and the research that yields life-saving medications and vaccines disappears. Voters should demand that both candidates protect and strengthen the market-based health care system that has been second-to-none for patients and a driver of breakthrough innovation.”
